About Orthodontic Retainers

 A retainer is an appliance used after orthodontic treatment to protect the results of the correction. There are a few different styles of retainers, but each is used to “retain” the treatment benefits and to prevent teeth from shifting out of alignment. Regardless of which orthodontic treatment type you select, retainers will be needed as part of maintaining your lifelong dream smile. For this reason, a set of clear retainers are given to each patient when they complete treatment; this is included in the overall treatment cost.

Retainers For Life Program

Because retainers are required to maintain your smile, we offer a “Retainers For Life” program. At Sandpoint Orthodontics, we understand the key to lasting orthodontic treatment retention is continuous use. Without wearing a retainer, the teeth can shift over time, even after wearing a retainer for a long period. That’s why we have implemented our “Retainers For Life” program – allowing you to keep that beautiful smile forever, all at an affordable price.

The first step of the program is to obtain a digital scan of the patient’s mouth. This is an ultra-accurate 3-D scan that can be stored indefinitely. When a new retainer is needed, whether it’s lost, broken, or if you simply wish for a new set, just call our office. We’ll make you a brand new retainer. It’s that easy!

Ask us about our lifetime retainer program during your first visit to learn more. Patients can join at any time,  but we do offer a discount for those that sign up at the beginning of treatment.
